2016 Ram 3500 Laramie Longhorn

The 3500 is the biggest, toughest and most capable pickup Ram has to offer. This car has achieved a huge success over the last few years and that is the reason why Ram has decided to upgrade the design.

Exterior

Ram turned his attention to the chassis, that was engineered to provide bigger roll stiffness for more confident, planted handling in turns. The other improving is in the point of dynamics with reciprocating ball steering system that provides better on-center feel. There is also an optional rear air suspension system, both single- and dual-rear wheel configurations, which is unique among heavy duty pickups, the setup makes up for an even more comfortable ride and includes a self-leveling function that adjusts the ride height to compensate for a payload or attached trailer.

Hopefully these tweaks are enough for a demandable customer. Exterior touches include a body-color front fascia, chrome bumpers, 17-inch polished aluminum wheels and no badges save for a small italicized block-letter “Limited” on the tailgate and the traditional Ram logo.

There are also some redundant buttons and knobs for climate and audio volume and tuning included.

Engine and performance

Ram has also added a new 6.4 liter HEMI V8 option with 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. For an extra cost, you can get that engine, to choose it over the standard 5.7 liter HEMI, which produces 329 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic and feature a Multiple-Displacement System (MDS) which shuts off four cylinders under light load conditions to conserve fuel.
