Even though it still hasn’t been confirmed that the Hellcat-powered Ram will hit the market at all, we decided to make a rendering about the way the vehicle might look like. Most of its design cues will be borrowed from the Charger Hellcat and the Challenger Hellcat. The unique bodywork will be present too, but the carmaker will have to do many upgrades and improvements on the platform to make it suitable for a 700-horsepower engine. Well, it wouldn’t be the very first time for the carmaker to put an unsuitable drivetrain under the bonnet of its products. Ten years ago, the carmaker used the 8.3-liter V-10 powerplant for the SRT-10 and the Viper. The 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat would be a great replacement for the SRT-10, but time will tell what the carmaker has up its sleeves.
Dodge RAM 1500 SRT Hellcat Exterior
If the Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat hits the market, after all, it will arrive with a host of changes to its exterior. The front fender and the front grille will host “SRT” and “supercharged” marks. Other exterior cues include redesigned front bumper and newly designed fog lamps. It will ride on newly designed wheels.
It will probably be a set of 22 to 24-inch units, similar to the ones on other SRT products. The A-Pillars will be finished in the same matte finish as the B-pillars. Bed cover will probably be offered as standard. The Dodge Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat 2017 will be shorter than its predecessor. Thanks to these changes, the vehicle will have a more menacing appearance.
Dodge RAM 1500 SRT Hellcat 2017 Interior
Things inside of the cabin will be significantly changed as well. Details about the interior are still kept in the vault, but we believe that it will be anything but conventional. The seats will probably be heavily bolstered, comfortable, and supportive. Regarding materials, they will be wrapped in finest materials such as leather along with Alcantara inserts.
Along the cabin, expect to see a lot of carbon-fiber accents. The steering wheel will come with flat-bottom treatment. Expect a leather- or Alcantara-wrapped unit. The ZF 8-speed rotary transmission will make itself at home on the dash. Regarding equipment, expect anything from the latest technology including an 8.4-inch screen with Unconnect system, upgraded stereo, and others.
2017 Dodge RAM 1500 SRT Hellcat Engine
There is not much to speculate about the engine of the Dodge Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat. If the carmaker decides to put Hellcat bone under the bonnet of the half-ton truck, after all, it will be the tried-and-trusted 6.2-liter V-8. The engine will be capable of producing 707 horses and 650 pound-feet of torque. We believe that it will need four seconds to hit 60 mph, which is a pretty impressive achievement.
The engine will be teamed up with an eight-speed TorqueFlite shifter with paddle shifters. The thought of a manual transmission being offered is another interesting thing about the newcomer. Since the carmaker already offers a manual shifter in the heavy-duty niche, everything is possible. More exact details about the 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat are yet to be announced.
Stay tuned while we bring you more news when they come out!
